Recipe bits, fragments, and pieces

Post by Koradin »

Until further notice, do not store these in clan chests. You'll notice that burying them under a bunch of junk in a storage box makes them harder to read...

You've been warned.

The load on smobs of bits and fragments has been upped because of the fact that they now load smithing as well as mixing recipes.

Also, any humanoid mob now has a very small chance to load a recipe bit.

From now on, any new recipe bits, fragments, and pieces can be handled by their respective trade names. For example:

get all.mixing pack
drop all.smithing
give mixing koradin

This should make it a bit easier when handling them.

The COMBINE command has been changed:

1. You can now hold anything in your inventory during this process.
2. Simply type 'combine' and the first two recipe items that can be combined will be.
3. Recipe parts that overlap can still combine as long as there's a part of one that doesn't exist in the other. For example, the 'bottom half' of a pink vial recipe could be combined with the 'right half' of a pink vial recipe to form 'all but the top left corner' of a pink vial recipe (even though the bottom right corner overlaps).

The way these items load has been changed to reflect a person's specific skill levels in trades. If you kill a smob that loads part of a recipe, the recipe type will be determined by the skills of those in the room at the time of the smob's death.

For example:

Nicotine and Wrath go smobbing together. Nicotine has Smithing practiced, and Wrath has Tailoring practiced. Whenever they skill something that loads a recipe part, it will load as either a smithing recipe or a tailoring recipe. They won't see any mixing recipes load.

Sadi goes smobbing alone with some mercs. She has Mixing practiced, so any recipes that load will be mixing recipes.

This change was made in an effort to make higher level recipe parts more obtainable. It may change back when the playerbase grows to a point where commerce between players is common.

Recipe bit and fragment loads have been upped substantially. Regular humanoid mobs will load bits at a higher rate. Humanoid mobs will also now have a chance to load a sack, pack, lantern, torch, or short dagger.
