As you step down from your horse a squire runs up beside you out of breathe and in a hurry.
"Captain Tristan! King Roedran has called an immediate gathering of the council, you presence is required." the boy spits out in a hurry before taking off once again from the stable, as he runs through the doors he yells back "It's in the barracks"
A confused look crossed Tristans face as he hears the yells of people the boy ran in to while running and shortly shakes his head in disbelief. "get my things and stable Obi, I must go to the barracks" he says to his personal squire, "Yes sir! I'll be sure to get your things back to your room as soon as i can" says the squire as he leads the Captains horse away. With a quick nod Tristan turns for small flight of steps the lead to the barracks from the stables, built from stone, the stairs were very sturdy but small, it was easy to run into people while climbing them.
Footsteps started up the steps behind him and quickly came upon him. "There you are!" said Theodore, "I take it my squire got to you?" "Yes, I'm just on my way now to the council meeting" Theodore nods in a hurry, "He got to you fast!" Theodoree chuckles slightly "I told him he would be thrown into the womens dorms to do their duties if he was not steadfast on bring you the news" a sharp grin strikesTristanÔÇÖss face, "you are to hard on that boy." Theodore shakes his head while saying 'It will do him good in the long run"
The Murandian Cavalry Barracks
Bunks and cots are lined in rows where the lower ranking men of the Murandian
Cavalry sleep. Some of the men that are off duty dice and gamble amongst
themselves while others are set at posts to keep intruders at bay. The captain
of the Murandian Cavalry keeps a watch over his men and a few of his officers
accompany him.

You put your hand to your head and give a salute to your captain and king.
You say 'I got here as soon as i heard, What is the reason for this meeting sir?'
King Roedran says 'Ah good, We have urgent news from our scouts about a movement from the shadow'
You frown.
The captain butts in, 'We have been informed there is to be an attempt on the kings life'
You gasp, then quickly recover yourself.
You say 'Which scouting party was this?'
The captain says 'It was our small party scouting cairalain plain just north of Four Kings.'
Roedran nods slightly.
King Roedran says 'only one survived, he said they didn't stand a chance against them.'
King Roedran says 'He put their numbers at around 8 trollocs a fade and a greyman. They managed to king a Trolloc which is the only reason the even seen the greyman.'
The captain nods with a worried look on his face.
The captain says 'They didn't even see him coming, 4 cavalrymen slain by one greyman.'
The captain shivers slightly
You say 'How long ago was this?'
King Roedran replies 'The surviving scout came back two days ago while you were on your way back from your leave in Tear'
King Roedran says 'He was in pretty bad shape when he got here, we only got the news no more then an hour ago.'
You nod in understanding.
You say 'Then they could be south of Four kings by now, we must take measures to prevent this! Greyman are deadly creatures.'
King Roedran says 'we have dispatched 2 patrols just north of the north gate, along with 3 men in each corridor until we can be sure the threat is over.'
King Roedran says 'I want you to stay here with me as my bodyguard along with the captain.'
You nod sternly.
You turn your attention on a small squire hidden in the corner.
You say 'You there!'
a Squire says 'Yes sir?'
You tell the squire 'Run to my rooms and fetch me my sword and shield at once'
Already running for the door the squire replies 'I'll be back in a moment'
You yell 'HURRY!'
The shuts with a slam as the squire runs off.
You look back towards the council members.
You say 'Double the guard at the Barracks front and back entrances, and make sure there are fresh eyes watching! We don't want anyone dead from lack of sleep'
An officer nods and turns towards the doors.
You say 'King Roedran, Please come with me to my office. You too please Captain.'
You unlock the office door to the north.
You open the large wooden door and enter.
A large office for council
Lined with bookcases all filled with stories of war and the histories of Murandy, decorated to suite a wealthy lord in a manor. Paintings by foreign artists hang from behind a large oak desk, covered in papers, a large jug sits on a corner ready to fall.

As you sit behind the desk you wave your hand towards the other chairs for them to sit.

You say 'Now, what are we........'
You are cut off as a squire knocks on the door loudly.
you yell 'Enter'
A small squire enters from the south.
A squire says 'Hear is your sword and shield sir!'
You stand up quickly and take your arms from the squire.
You thank the squire.
You say 'please give us privacy now boy. And send in a guard if you will please. I don't want anyone entering this door.'
The squire nods and leaves.
A squire leaves south.
A Cavalry guard closes the door from the outside.
You draw your sword from it's sheath and examine it.
The captain says 'That is a Heron-mark Sword is it not?'
You nod at the captain.
You rub your chest and feel a scar from the day you obtained the sword, 'it was one hell of a fight'
The captain nods.
*squeek*
You stop talking and start listening intently.
The captain all of a sudden stops and notices your expression.
Realising what you were doing he stood quickly.
Before he could do anything a fade emerged from the shadows and placed a long slim sword straight through his chest.

You draw your sword and jump in front of the king, fending off a direct attack from the tall fade. Whirlwind down the plain,
You crouch and slice upward cutting off the arm of the fade.
Heron meets the raven.
A parry and a fast smooth slice.
The fade falls into a heap of lifeless rotting meat.
You stand and turn to the king.
The King starts towards you to look over you for injuries.
As you look at the king you notice a shadow on the floor
King Roedran makes a loud noice as a greyman places a black bladed dagger into his back!
parting the silk.
with a single movement you place your sword through the chest of the greyman ending his life.
You yell 'GUARDS!'
A Murandian Loyal Officer leading two cavalryman enter from the south.
Gasp and more yells echo their entrance.
You yell 'He is alive! Get the Wisdom!'
You yell 'NOW!'
a guard rushes off out the door.
You slowly remove the dagger from the back of King Roedran.
You whisper 'I have failed you sire'
King Roedran Whispers to you 'You have not failed me son, The useless greyman missed'
King Roedran coughs and shutters.
a Wisdom bursts in from the south.
A wisdom yells 'GET OUT OF THE WAY!'
A wisdom yells 'LEAVE! give me time with him, and send in my two apprentices!'
You wipe the blood off your blade and begin to leave south, closing the door on your way out.
Two young girls hurry past just before the door closes and you hear the wisdom giving out orders.

You say 'I completely agree, Let it be known. The Murandian Cavalry is here by ordered to form an assault on the blight, send scouting parties out right away, send messengers to the boarderlands for King Easar and Lord Agelmar to rally their forces in our aid.'

You say 'Let all the captains and generals know straight away'
You stand up straight.
You say loudly 'The Murandian Cavalry and the forces of light are going to war with the shadow in the blight!'
